Mission

We are united in our love for this landscape and in our desire to sustain what makes the Red Desert special for future generations.

WHO WE ARE

The Red Desert is a special place that Indigenous people, Wyoming residents, and visitors have treasured for hundreds of years.  Citizens for the Red Desert is a loose coalition of citizens, groups, and interests that value this landscape and want it to stay the same and free from large scale industrial activities.  We are advocates of Tribal Nations, hunters, hikers, birders, history buffs, conservationists, ORV users, tourists, people of faith, rock hounds, horse and bike riders, union workers, naturalists, photographers, campers, business owners, and more.

OUR MISSION

The Red Desert is a land of many uses, holding special value for a diversity of Wyoming people. We are united in our love for this landscape and in our desire to sustain what makes the Red Desert special—for future generations.

OUR VISION

Our vision is a Red Desert where wildlife thrive, undeveloped lands are connected, traditional and ancestral uses continue, histories are honored, and opportunities for solitude, responsible recreation, and spiritual experiences flourish now and into the future.
